Dr. Christian Pace, DVM - Associate Veterinarian
Background: Dr. Christian Pace, our Associate Veterinarian, embarked on his veterinary journey after completing his undergraduate studies with a major in Animal Science and a minor in History at the University of Idaho. Continuing his education at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, he graduated in 2010. Following graduation, he ventured to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for a period before returning to Illinois. During his time back in Illinois, he gained valuable experience working at several clinics, including three years at a Chicago animal shelter. It was here that he honed his surgical skills, performing high-volume spays and neuters, and developed a deep understanding of veterinary medicine. Dr. Pace joined our team in 2021, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a dedication to providing exceptional care to our patients.
Professional Passion: Dr. Pace's dedication to veterinary medicine springs from his early fascination with biology. His professional interests lie in providing exemplary care to pets with medical issues, particularly focusing on surgical and dental procedures. He gained invaluable experience during his time at the animal shelter, where he performed numerous surgeries and developed a deep understanding of dental health for pets.
Family, Pets, and Personal Interests: Dr. Pace's household includes his wife and their beloved pet, Gibbs, a six-year-old black lab-hound mix adopted during his tenure at the animal shelter. Gibbs is a loyal companion with a task-oriented personality, always eager for outdoor adventures. Beyond veterinary medicine, Dr. Pace is passionate about history and passenger trains. His interests span American history, from the Spanish lands in the Southwest to Atomic America. Additionally, he is an advocate for passenger rail travel, actively supporting initiatives to improve train travel options for Americans. Dr. Pace finds solace in cross-country journeys on Amtrak, viewing them as an ideal way to explore the country while enjoying the comfort of train travel.
Pets under Dr. Pace's care benefit from his expert surgical techniques and gentle manner, ensuring a positive experience for both furry companions and their families.
