Background: Originally from a small town in upstate New York, Dr. Daviou sought independence and new experiences. Her journey to veterinary medicine began with a transformative experience during a medical relief trip abroad while in college, where she witnessed the close bond between humans and animals and the impact of diseases that can be transmitted between them. Inspired, she shifted her focus from studying human medicine to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and earning her veterinary degree from Purdue University, Dr. Daviou decided to settle in Chicago, drawn by the vibrancy of city life. Joining the Countryside Veterinary Center team in 2014, she has been an integral part of the hospital since its opening. In 2018, Dr. Daviou assumed the role of Medical Director, emphasizing a culture that prioritizes exceptional veterinary care and the well-being of the team. She plays a vital role in guiding DVMs toward efficiency and confidence in their practice.

Professional Passion: Dr. Daviou finds immense fulfillment in the clinical aspects of her role, particularly in working directly with her feline and canine patients, as well as their devoted owners. She considers it a privilege to be entrusted with nurturing the bond between pets and their caregivers. As the Medical Director, Dr. Daviou also takes great joy in supporting aspiring veterinarians and young professionals as they navigate their careers in the field. Her commitment to fostering excellence and championing work-life balance is reflected in her mentorship approach.

Family, Pets, and Personal Interests: Dr. Daviou's household includes her supportive husband and their two young sons who fill their days with joy amongst the chaos. Pictured with Dr. Daviou are their two wonderfully loyal dogs, Avo and Quest. Avo, a Bouvier, Great Pyrenees, Newfoundland mix, recently crossed the rainbow bridge after 15 years as Dr. Daviou's steadfast companion. He accompanied her through various stages of life, serving as a loving big brother to their children. Quest, a 7-year-old Goldendoodle, holds a special place in Dr. Daviou's heart after treating her as a puppy while Quest was hospitalized with parvo along with her littermates. She is known for her sweet nature and affectionate demeanor. Outside of her veterinary career, Dr. Daviou and her family are avid travelers, having explored destinations such as Colombia, Turkey, Greece, Switzerland, and Spain. Dr. Daviou also has recently started relearning to play the piano and looks forward to sharing this passion with her boys as they grow older.
