Background: Originally from New York, where her family still resides, Dr. Monica Capolongo's journey to veterinary medicine began at Ithaca College, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology. She was also a collegiate softball player at Ithaca College, serving as catcher. She then pursued her veterinary education at Ross University, with clinical rotations at Cornell University. During her clinical year, Dr. Capolongo completed an externship at Countryside Veterinary Center, where she discovered her perfect fit and joined our team upon graduating in 2021.

Professional Passion: Dr. Capolongo's professional interests span a wide range, including client education, preventative medicine, and emergency care. She finds fulfillment in educating pet parents and empowering them to provide the best possible care for their furry companions. Thriving in the fast-paced environment of veterinary medicine, she excels in both routine and critical cases.

Family, Pets, and Personal Interests: Dr. Capolongo shares her home with SK, a 7-year-old mix breed dog she adopted from St. Kitts and Nevis during veterinary school, who serves as her faithful travel companion and cherished cuddle buddy. While embracing city life in Chicago, she holds her family ties dear and frequently travels to New York for Sunday dinners with loved ones. Beyond her visits to New York, Dr. Capolongo has a passion for exploring new cuisines, cultures, and destinations around the world. When not working or traveling, she enjoys outdoor activities, particularly golfing during Chicago's warmer months. Additionally, she can be found spending weekends trying out new restaurants in Chicago or cheering on the Cubs at Wrigley Field during the summer!
